Stand-By Poem by Dorsey Baker

Stand-By

I'm afraid of my
fear
when or where
it might appear

a weight that cannot
be measured exactly
Edgy and burdened
mattter of factly

My thoughts collide
with my emotions
in a head-on
crash
a beautiful landscape
destroyed by discarded trash

the future thaws itself
in the mornful past
youth is just a moment
that comes and goes
so very fast
