Standing Alone Poem by Dorsey Baker

Standing Alone

don't let yourself
think too hard
or you might
do a crime and have to
do some time
a thought
is such a powerful thing
happiness or sorrow
it can bring
keep your eyes on
the ball
hit a home run
darkness only arrives
when the light is gone
seek the truth
and you'll see that
its standing buck
naked in the sun
truth needs no crutch
it stands alone
