Standing Alone Poem by Angela Beaton

Standing Alone

I can't stand the looks you give
everytime I see you
Your eyes dripping with disgust
like you can't stand to be with me

Like your so much better
treating life like a game
going round and round
I don't wanna play anymore

I hate the way you talk to me
like Im a child that needs teaching
Im not a little girl anymore
I can hold my own

I don't need your protection
You act like you innocent
you know your part to blame
but I do all the suffering

So deal with it
I hope you hurt like me
my wounds will heal
but what you did to me
will leave me
standing alone
