Standing still or still standing

Life runs in circles
weeks
days
then months
We run with in these worlds
and the years just run away

Days spin into nights
dusk
midnight
then dawn
And time rules all our dreams
though our dreams just rule us all

I am standing on a moment
holding fast to keep whats mine
and life is keeping constant
the world seems full of time

Then the dream is lost in the morning light
And I awake to find
The life I thought was constant was never really mine
And in the moment I was standing
was in the time I was left behind
Now I'm running to catch up
and am dreaming that I will
But the morning is still coming
though in the dream
I am standing still
