Starry Eyed Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Starry Eyed

Gazing with fascination we marvel curiously
On a clear night stars fill the sky with a glow
Where do they come from? What do they proclaim?
Do constellations tell us what to do and where to go?

Many people over the years have looked to the heavens
Their destiny is written in the arrangement of the stars
Masses of burning gas you inspire and fulfilled prophecy
Continuously guiding the way, say celestial map scholars…

Is your brilliance merely a visual entity of delight?
Designed to entertain the imaginative thoughts of poets
In a cosmos of amazing wonder you are a radiant spark…
Burning intensely, as the cinders of fate fall like comets
