Darkness began to spread
in the eyes...
As if the rhythm
of breathing is disturbed.
It seems that many relatives, friends, and locals
have reached the room
as per the doctor's instructions. They are all around me;
some are touching me.
Others wet my lips with water and prepare me
for the last
thirsty journey...
As the beat of farewell
beats immortality
amid the tears of my wife,
who is the life of my life,
and of my son, whom I consider to be my soul,
Through the windowpane of the hospital bed,
my blurred vision saw
the stars in the sky...
I felt their beauty increasing beyond words...
