Status Quo Poem by Tirupathi Chandrupatla

Status Quo

An open trash can
Stood upright
Majestic it looked
As lone sentry.

Gust of wind
Blew so sudden
Empty can fell
On its side.

Wind turned mild
Now blew in spurts
With each blow
Went back and forth.

Rocking trash can
Precise as pendulum
One could measure
Time by its period.

Whole world
Seemed well in balance
Underlying rhythm
Was clearly evident.

Feeling within
Was strange indeed
Was it big bang
Or start of the universe.

Another gust blew
From its open end in a flash
The can turned upright
Wind stopped to stay status quo.
