Steeles West Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Steeles West

A poet (Early bird)
Catches worm

Radio on in car
News come
(Bad of course)
Of the girls
(Are kidnapped)
And Ukraine
(Civil War)

In the sky
Chat clouds
(Silver grey in patches,
Large-small)
And planes come to sight
(Off and on)

And the cars on asphalt
(Tire-wear and exhaust)

And road-signs
“We’re here buy from us)

And lampposts
(Lights are out)

And cables and wires
(Miles and miles)
The sky divided
(Choked to death)
It’s a shame; nature’s raped

And I miss virgin springs

It is sad that so much has ruined our beautiful Mother Earth. Nicely written poem. Very thought provoking.
