Stepchild Poem by Dorsey Baker

Stepchild

you turn me away from your house
you ban me from your presence
you fear me like poison
you hate me like
a nightmare
that comes at night
you foam at the mouth
you are the beast
you fight me
with all your armour
you protect yourself
from being yourself
but it is your weakness
and your fragileness
that you are trying
so hard to hide my friend
