Stephen Still Lives On - Poem by Donna McCord

Heaven waits beyond the pain, that’s where Stephen lives.
God stopped his suffering when his body had no more to give.
He loved the Lord and God blessed him during his time here,
His laughter was contagious and his memory we hold dear

During his forty five years upon this earth he gave us food for thought.
Just think of all the good he did, his generosity and those he taught.
He became the man he was because of the parents you were to him,
The illumination of his soul in your hearts will never dim.

No kinder soul could there have been, and he was talented as well.
He sang “More Than Wonderful” more times than we can tell.
He lived his life by the word of God as in Ephesians 3 Verse 20,
So rest assured that God’s blessings upon Stephen will be plenty

Now his legacy lives on in the minds of those he taught,
And he will live on still in your mind and in your heart.
As his parents you instilled in him the importance of God’s love,
So weep not, your son’s not lost, just be proud of who he was.
