Still Praying Poem by Randy McClave

Still Praying

After a remark I did say
She pointed at me and told me to pray,
Then a similar remark with a smile I made again
She then pointed at me and said, "another sin"!
They were just cute one liners I had said
Which before I had heard or had either read,
And I thought that they were all truly funny
I was just trying to making the situation sunny.
She then told me to pray for what I had spoke
And I smiled and I said it was just a joke,
Then she mumbled at me with a watchful stare
So, of I course, I said a prayer.
Then I decided to stay as quiet as a mouse
As I was in her office, in the church's house,
Then from boredom I began to humorously vent
She then told me to go and to repent.
I inadvertently spoke that line many more times
Now my soul felt like it had committed crimes,
So, now while she and her friends are out playing
I am inside the church, still praying.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I do volunteer work at the church I attend, and I slept skip some funny one liners, which our pastors wife didn't find amusing, so I wrote this poem.
