Still Wonderful. Poem by Kim Dang

Still Wonderful.

Conviction, you say, justifies your uncertainty
And you're taking a stand to believe because it's beautiful
But it's farce to me, a world with flashing lights and it's just for show
You follow because you want someone to listen, like you're not alone.

But conviction alone doesn't sway me.
Uncertainty alone, the mere possibility of refuting absolute knowing.
Doesn't push me into undying loyalty, it's neurologically unstable.
And our memories, what speaks to me, are admittedly hallucinatory
'No! ' you'll cry with your dark eyes, He saved me, 'I more than able'.

But it's called being too comfortable.
The community you've been nurtured in, the Christmas carols.
The parents' love you fear, not as unconditional, if you suddenly say no.
Why change your life's status quo - when it's so damn difficult?
When there's even the ease of marrying within your circle.

Someone once told me, without these so called cults, there would still be scapegoats
People will still have reasons to act harmful
I suggest without the promotions,
Without permission, and without religion
If it is easy to find substitutes for our scapegoats...

I implore you, dare to think of a world without anything blibical,
Mapping out our own life plans, not because He,
but because 'we' say so.
I swear to you.
LIFE would find its own reasons to remain disgustingly wonderful.
