I won't waste your time with silly semantics
No pithy dialogue, no wild antics
I won't show up at your door with bunches of flowers
Nor jump for you off the highest tower
No witty poems to express my feelings
No Hallmark card to get across my meaning
I won't buy you presents for a nothing occasion
I won't bore you to tears with claims of adoration
I won't write you a sappy love song
That'll replay in your head all night long
I won't write you little notes that are left for you to find
I won't treat you to a dinner of steak and wine
I won't dazzle you with dance moves
But you know what I will do?
I'll open up my heart and simply say, 'I love you'
