Strange country that we now live in
I don't really know where to begin,
We say that we are a Christian nation
But, that's only in our imagination.
Many don't want to help the needy or the poor
They just want to kick them out the door,
They want to do and treat immigrants the same
And they do it all in Jesus's name.
We believe in politicians who constantly lies
We are told a current president wears a disguise,
And we believe owning more guns will reduce killings
And we don't want to hurt the NRA's feelings.
We believe a national sport was thrown
Because one of the players on the winning team is dating a singer who is known,
She encourages all of her fans to go out and vote
She's evil the republicans have now wrote.
We talk about the history of Russia, China, Germany and Greece
Also of Japan, Mexico, Africa and the Middle East,
But, we think it's wrong to talk about the history of our country
The home of the proud and the brave and the free.
I remember reading in history about Nazi controlled Germany
And how everyone was their enemy,
Especially with different skin colors and religions and beliefs
So, the Nazis brought the immigrants griefs.
Our country is now full of bigots and racists
Who will judge you by your clothes and the color of faces,
And if you are an immigrant from a different land
They hope you bleed to death from razor wire cutting your hand.
Our history they want the world to forget
How our forefathers came to this land with no respect,
They raped and murdered and stole from the indigenous people
Now as they murder and steal they want it to be legal.
I remember when traitors were arrested and jailed
And not worshipped and praised and hailed,
And now when I hear of rioting, murder and greed I shed a tear
Strange country that we now have here.
