I wonder what it would be like to live
On Venice Beach in the Sixties
Hanging out with the Doors
I mean Ray was hot back then
Being a strawberry blonde and blue eyes
Jim, on the hand, I would love to have
An intellectual conversation about Rimbaud
But to sleep with him--hell no!
He's not my type
I wonder if hitchhiking up and down the coast
Looking for an adventure in San Fran would be safe
But those days are gone
Nowadays, you'll get arrested for just yr looks
But to read beside McClure
With his 'Death of 100 Whales'
However, it's just too late because they are gone
And only if I had a time machine
To rekindle those simple time
To rekindle those simple time...... excellent piece....thank u, LeeAnn..
I'd love to visit that age too! . The 1960s are easily one of the coolest periods in history. That being said I don't think those times were ever simple

LeeAnn, you are definitely the tribute poets' poet! ! ! Love this multi-tribute poem. You've mentioned some of my favourite poets and I love The Doors. BTW, Ray Manzarek has always said that The Doors would never had been formed had it not been for the influence of Jack Kerouac!
