Strangers To Our Essence Poem by Lamerre Lucie

Strangers To Our Essence

I do not know,
If the universe is eternal.

I do not know,
If this life
Has any sense;
Or if Earth's
other than dust.

I do not know any of that,
But see, my friend;
I am tired of trying to be right.

And perhaps Consciousness only is
A consequence of Flesh,
And perhaps Chance is the only thing that rules;

And I say,
As I am here now, stranger to my essence;
The whole goal is not to know,
'Cause Life's mystery will blind
Those desperate to understand.

And I've been blind for a while now,
And I've decided to let Life shine.
