Seaman Poem by Lamerre Lucie

Seaman

Rating: 3.8

There! Do you see it?
The lighthouse calling us far away in the blizzard,
Showing us the way back home, after such a long journey.

You are sad and tired, Seaman;
Your face is all covered in rain,
Your cheeks pale, your head down.

The light of the lighthouse
Blinds you, it isn't warm,
It reminds you of how dark the starless sky and sea are.

How could you be happy, Seaman?
For there ain't nobody waiting for you in the port anymore.
