Strawberry Jam Poem by Arlene Dery

Strawberry Jam

Rosy red berries, picking so sweet,
Such is a tempting and heavenly treat.

Rinse under water, cut off the green,
Wash away, splash away, make it all clean.

Stir in some sugar, throw in a pot,
Smash it all up and cook it all hot.

Thicken it up until it's like tar,
Dip in a ladle, and put in a jar.

Sittin' there pretty, so much delight,
Glisten and shining in the sunlight.

Now the best part is coming real soon,
Pick up a jar and dip in your spoon!
