On the mud wall
Above the doorway
A little high
I often saw a picture
In my childhood home,
Depicting a terrible scene
Of a royal courtroom.
Ruling over was there
Both peace and awe.
The God had manifested
In His fiercest avatar.
Neither looking like a human
Nor a lion, and appearing
Out of a strong pillar
At the threshold of the palace
At the meeting point
Of day and night,
He was tearing apart
The mighty king of demons,
Holding the motionless body
Upon the lap
In His claws.
Other gods and goddesses
In all thankfulness were
Seen showering flowers
From their positions in the sky
As the demon got eliminated.
No one could escape the havoc
The devil was creating
In all the three dimensions
Of the universe.
Very close, by the side
Standing fearless
In full devotion
With both the hands folded
A little child knew
His prayers were heard!
On several occasions
The child was saved.
He incurred the wrath
Of his father, the demon king
For chanting the God's name!
The demon wanted to know
Where was his God hiding!
If he was everywhere then
Whether He was present
In the nearby pillar-
‘Yes' being his son's answer
Made him wild with anger
Fury and hate.
The mighty demon kicked.
The pillar was broke open.
There came out
The creator of universe
To save the little one
To restore His order.
He saved the followers
Of truth and virtue
By handing over the kingdom
To the little ruler.

The truth oriented mythology beautifully rendered. Fantastic use of the metaphor that gives out a powerful message. Lion_hearted Avatars would would spring in from time to time to rescue the feeble helpless and the poor
