Stretch Of Wonders Poem by Remy Tom

Stretch Of Wonders

Rating: 4.5

Simmering water stretched till horizon
humble mightiness lay flat and calm.
Swishing gently, gentle waves
beckoning all that comes her way.
Murmurs and growls, rumbles and mumbles
moving and swirling in her majestic grace
Splendor crowning this delicate highness
Salty breezes tickling her slightly
provoking and consoling the unending stretch
Boats and ships speckling her surface
to leave and reach land again
and attempting to gain a handful
from her plentiful bosom

Beneath this calm is a world of its own
Secrets and mysteries yet to be known
bubbling treasures under this quieted turmoil
long ago stories and legends she has made
her womb has kept knowledge of an era long lost
the skies witnessing her unceasing magnificence
the sun's abode for the night, as it bows to kiss her feet
A beauty to behold, wondrous and breathtaking
A power so strong, enigmatic and wrathful
to worship and adore
to preserve and protect.
