Strictly Scrumptious Poem by Mark Heathcote

Strictly Scrumptious

In delirious moments, kissed
We submerged now each into each
We emerged only to beseech
A cause deeper not to subsist

But to fall deeper all the time
You see, boys, love is not a crime.
At least not when it feels sublime.
Not when two joyous couplets rhyme

And are then joined body and heart.
Flesh and soul now fuse -together.
Rudderless skiffs in tether
Each as the other counterpart

With a decree of love, let's drown
Let's move love from this dreary coast.
Let's get this picture diagnosed.
This fear is floating like thistledown.

Love, it's a forever moment.
When I look at your gentle face
And hold hands, it reiterates
There can now be no postponement.

Let's copulate and truly live.
Ah, sweetheart, you make me conscious.
Loving you is strictly scrumptious.
The effect of Bonny and Blithe.
Oh, darling will you be my wife?
