Subjected To Objections Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Subjected To Objections

That which is subjected to objections,
Only becomes scrutinized to dissect and microscoped...
If those evaluating to determine and decide,
Who benefits ultimately.
To then have quickly switch,
From what is politically correct.
With an ending of a debate.
To select and do the obvious.

The appearance and looks of anyone,
Has its advantages over others.
To qualify the image to be given.
More than knowledge or having competence.
With proven experience,
Testimonials and credentials obtained.
And this is all one needs.
Suitable to represent,
An organization sinking...
In disarray.
As if to enjoy the chaos.
Excused to explain away.
And...
As long as those chosen to represent it,
Are dressed to impress.
With a kept effective acceptable image.
Nothing else should be required to address.
Or be expected to hear heard.

"uh...
Earlier you expressed discussions of objections.
Could those objections debated,
Be the reason of such an unnecessary failure.
Is there a valid explanation for it? "

-Yes there is.
Look at us.
Now look at them.
If your ship was sinking,
Who would you rather have on it.
When that happens.
We would never dare to admit,
Our insecurities publicly.
That would ruin our pretensions.-

"None of that makes any sense."

-To who?
It's too late.
And we won the debate.-

"Yeah, you did.
But at whose expense.
The tax payers? "
