Substance Saluting Style Poem by Aniruddha Pathak

Substance Saluting Style

Once they wore uniforms dipped in starch,
But pretend now to be on vague march,
Vacuous words walking miles,
Substance saluting styles,
In their isles isolate
Nowhere comes Nation State,
In a white winter a warm spring's March!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Earlier a politician's identity was hand-made cotton clothes duly starched. Now they go by various gimmickries. Marching along nation's length and breath is one; another, marching their supporters to governor/President; or marching for sundry causes. Styles supersede substance, nation their least priority.
