Suddenly Reading This Lap The Miles' Poem Again

Rating: 5.0

Suddenly reading this ‘Lap the miles' poem again
I feel young and eager to know to learn
To hear for the first time
As if by reading I will know and learn
How to write truly-

All the failure and disillusionment of the years
All the weariness and discouragement
Of my own writing failure
Are for an instant absent-

And young again
Happy again
Eager to learn
To read
To write again
I try once more to memorize these lines
I knew once half- well
And will know slightly better now.
