after Blake

suffering falls away
I heard the angels say
in the presence of that Holy Child
who made us meek and mild
although we stray
from greener fields away
he will us mend
and to us joy shall send
beyond all Christmas, Easter days
wherever we may pray
and winter for spring exchange
and pure joys will arrange
and crimes shall cease and
no more remembered be
than as if
they never were.
