Sugar And Milk Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Sugar And Milk

Rating: 4.5

The great Parsee* landed at Surat* port
Along with sun lamp for their support
They were religiously persecuted
So many fled and rest were executed

Bulk of them landed in Gujarat State of India
They were taken to king with their plea
The king was hospitable and intelligent
He praised their decision and allowed to stay at present

He called chief of community
Present bawl with full of milk to the full capacity
The chief got the message and understood
The state had no place on ground

He too was clever and asked for sugar
He put sugar in bawl which melted sooner
The king understood the reply
The king too got hint and did not deny

As sugar melted in milk and became one
The community conveyed their resolution
The king permitted them with honor
Since then Parsee are always decorated

Nation holds key to success
If all communities are given access
And full participation in all matters
They love whole hearted to each other

Parsee…. Small community in India
Surat…. Now diamond city of India
