Summer Festivities Poem by Marilyn Lott

Summer Festivities

The time of the year is coming
When so many festivities are around
I love what is waiting for summer
The sights, the smells and the sounds

Parades are ever so much fun then
With folks all fancy and bright
Food smells all through the air
Oh my, what amazing delights

For after the cold dreary winter
The sun shines down on our town
It brings out the best life has to offer
And excitement will always abound

Flowers bloom in their infinite glory
To decorate the festivities of fun
We are able to wear fewer clothes then
Enjoying fairs and parades in the sun

I hope you have some great plans
To enjoy what summer will bring
For we’ll be past the rain showers
Past the uncertainties of spring!
