Summer Haze, Winter Mist Poem by james watkin

Summer Haze, Winter Mist

Rating: 4.7

Amused, if under sedation.
Happy if half asleep.
The look, through a summer haze;
Yours, Earth. As we laze.

Year-turned, which face, and the reverse
Of it emerges.
Lifeless, a winter mist, through.
Which is in keeping
With one sedated; sleeping!
As hope submerges.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

The contrast between the effects of summer and winter on earth and the lives on it expressed with brevity. Beautiful.
