Sun-Day Poem by Connie Wine

Sun-Day

A day with the sun blasting
blue sky with fluffy clouds
am I happy or am I sad
am I lost within the crowds

Am I just one of many
who even cares who I am
I do, I care and I will not drown
I will not become part of the sham

So many pretend they are someone else
they feel the need to lie
ask me what you want
my true self I will not deny

I am who I am
and I will not change
an old hippie at heart
and you may find me strange

I look at the world through rose colored glasses
always looking for the good in everyone
trusting my feelings and my heart
my days are always full of fun
