Kavita Tha

Sunlight - Poem by Kavita Tha

Day breaks
in my soul.
New purpose
creates a door.

I think I'm healed
and I have you to thank
I'll love the essence of you
forever.

Though we are not together
Apart is good too.

I'll miss your laugh
and the look in your eyes.
I'll miss your touch
and your featherlight kisses.

I'll miss your deep embraces
that go on for days
I'll hold a piece of you
within me always.

I respect the man
that you are
and the man that you'll be.

Unfortunately,
he won't be walking
along with me.

We held on to each other for a while
and basked in the sweet promise.
And maybe one day
the sun may shine again.

But whether or not,
that finds us again
I'll thank your forever
for being my beautiful friend.
