Sunplay On My Little Friend Poem by Diana van den Berg

Sunplay On My Little Friend

Darling little blue-headed lizard
running up the trunk
of a Deinbollia oblongifolia
outside my window,
just as I glanced up,
the sunlight glorifying
your baby-dragon magnificence,
moving not in fear of danger
(I know because
I went to the window to look) ,
gifting me spine-tingling joy
to the raw core
of my namaste-being,
in your beauty
and exuberance
and celebration
of life.
