Supplication Poem by DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK

Supplication

Spontaneous
As wandering feet
Enduring thought
Acknowledging breath
And of sunset and sunrise
And in blinking eyes
Across spur day and night infinite
Wherein felt more of brightness that stuns
Than darkness that intoxicates
I carry both along with me
Open my eyes and see the sun
And close my eyes and see the moon
It happened one day
While going past the Hill of Calvary
I saw a crowd of people
A picture of which drew me there curious
And saw the dangling of a crucifix
The most awful of all things
Glistening like trillion suns
And asked everyone around there
Oh tell me who is this young man?
From tearful eyes came the reply
He is the Son of Mary
The Child of Nazareth
The King of Bethlehem
Oh my God! Oh my God!
Let me close my eyes for good
To see Thee day and night
In Thy Bethlehem skies
Lighting the lamp of love divine therein

A very nice spiritual poem indeed. Loved the style you have spilled your thoughts.
