Supplications Poem by Kingsley Egbukole

Supplications

Dear God
I partook in the inheritance of Adam's fall
Forgive
I witnessed it not
Yet a child of circumstance

Dear God
I thread on filthy adolescence
Pardon
I thought myself wise
When I knew not my name

Dear God
I consciously ignored the wisdom of adults
Have mercy
The old fool in me
Still has the thread of Adam
