Survival Wears Many Garments Poem by Terence George Craddock

Survival Wears Many Garments

at first glance
a phlegmatic
approach to life

is not
an easy
robe to don

an unemotional
stolidly calm disposition
takes time to don

to be as calm
as a water polished
rock in calm

waters
is testiment
to survival

in past
raging torrents
polished

mere survival
must wear many
garments over time

we survive
as best we can
what works

for one
individual
can be

the wrong
or a bad fit
for another
