Survivor Poem by Rick Elpers

Survivor

Rating: 5.0

God help me find my true path
That you have created for me
In spite of my desires or sin

My days move me through
This maze of activities
That leaves me weary

People and circumstances
Are your playground
Happiness and suffering
Are the result

This world is heading
To oblivion even as I
Have no idea when

So keeping my eyes on the prize
Or perhaps my heart
Is essential to salvation

So must I continue as if
You're there and not
With a broken heart

Broken life tattered spectrum
Hits and regrets
Near death almost life

Still hanging on
To a notion of faith
Of your generosity

A great piece.... i must confess being a pagan now i love that i am not made to feel judged... i just hug a tree... i wish i could believe so that i had someone to talk to (in my head) as i did all my life but after my loss i just cant....
