Suturing And Sowing The Eyes Of All Men Open Poem by Mark Heathcote

Suturing And Sowing The Eyes Of All Men Open

God is a needle, suturing and sowing the eyes of all men open.
But they are so weary and tired that even with their eyes sewn open
They miss the beauty. The brevity, the deliciousness of everything.
Sorrow and pain are eternal gifts.
Without which there would be no understanding-
Of the passage of a storm
A sunset horizon, a golden new dawn.
That momentous feeling you get when holding your firstborn.
