Sweet Hannah Montanna Poem by Ramona Thompson

Sweet Hannah Montanna

An old man wishes that the youth of today would change

Rewrite of the classic song, Sweet Home Alabama

Turn her up

DJ keep that pop record on spinnin'
Carry an old man away
From the troubles of my day
Back to when I was young and untouched
Innocent just like her
Hit me up, bartender
With another glass of that icy cold milk
And don't you dare tell me its a sin, no
To act like
I'm only 16
When I'm really 48

Well, I don't wanna hear any of you misunderstanding misters diss her
Well, I don't wanna hear any of you silly, jealous high school girls put her down
Well, I hope somehow, someday you young people will remember her examples
A good kid don't need to act like any of those saggy pants clowns
Rappin' their way around this no good devil's town

Sweet Hannah Montana
The girl with the heart so true
Sweet Hannah Montana
Lord, girl, I wish there were more like you

In every town
All over this screwed up world
They love the ones who seem to have no morals
No, none at all
As for me
I don't wanna
Don't wanna follow that crowd
Now it just seems to me
There is so much more we could do
If we would only try
Now that lack of conscience does very much bother me
Does that lack of conscience bother you?

Sweet Hannah Montana
The girl with the heart so true
Sweet Hannah Montana
Lord, girl, I wish there were more like you
If only there were more like you, Montanna

Now public schools seem nowadays to be
Filled with nothing but a bunch of darn ole fools
Been known to tear apart a song of hers or two
Ooh believe it or not
Yes they have and do

Lord they peeve me off so much
Then girl you come along
Pick me up when I'm feeling blue
Ooh yes you do

Sweet Hannah Montana
The girl with the heart so true
Sweet Hannah Montana
Lord, girl, I wish there were more like you

Sweet Hannah Montanna
Oh gentle one
With the heart of pure and true
The very best one
Sweet Hannah Montanna
Lordy, girly
Girly, I wish the youth of today would all join as one
To be more
To be more like you
Yeah, yeah
I do
