Sweet Jesus Poem by Phillip Nine Mafunga

Sweet Jesus

It must've been quite a spectacle
Heavens stilled in awe
In the darkened skies of the pagans, His star lit up their souls
With His Majesty of the universe humbling Himself
Shrinking his glory; dimming it into sinful flesh
In blood, wrought He the story of our salvation
His flesh lacerated for human recompense
For to that, "By His stripes we were healed"
Oh! What love!
Love divine!
Sweet Jesus, what a wonder He is!
Calls He all sinners to come dine with Him
Even as it is today, the table of redemption set He, for whosoever!
