Sweet Memories Of A Heartbeat Poem by DeAire Taylor

Sweet Memories Of A Heartbeat

It's been four years since I last saw you
The last day I was in Lebanon
We were the coolest kids on the block
You were the ice while I was the fire
I was your only 'normal' friend
You gave me food
You showed me love
You even let me sleep in your bed with you
I miss everything about you
Your long black hair
Those beautiful deep brown eyes
Your smooth hands interlocked with mine
We always had two songs we would listen to
The Dream 'I love your girl'
And Lady Gaga's 'Poker Face'
We were a better duo than Biggie and Faith
Or Angelina and Brad
Every day you would come outside to watch me skateboard with your brother
There wasn't a second that we were away from each other
Then I had to move
And when I saw your face as you stared me down
I tried to stay as long as possible
There hasn't been a day that went by that I haven't thought about you
To make a long story short
Amber Martinez
I miss you
There's a song that makes me think of you
A song by Aubrey Drake Graham and it goes like this
Tell me who did I leave behind
You think it got to me I can just read your mind
You think I'm so caught up in where I am right now
But believe I remember it all
I love you and I always will
