Swim With The Moon Poem by NHIEN NGUYEN MD

Swim With The Moon

Rating: 3.9

The moon hangs low on the sky
The moon sinks at pool bottom while water flows on surface.
This is a private pool for family use
However, we share swimming with our guests.
I swim by myself this evening
Fortunately, the moon watches over me as I swim.
My wife is too busy to join me
She needs to finish her report before she can be free.
The sun has set for a long while
Many fire worms invite me to join their parade of light.
My black cat sits by the pool side
His dreaming eyes follow my swimming and water ripples.
I swim back and forth along the pool length
On every other lap, I swim on my back to watch the sky with shining moon
To watch the sitting cat watching me
To watch fire worms and bats darting across the pool sky.
After swimming continuously for an hour long
I get out of the pool, waiting to swim the next day with the moon.

Above is translation poem of the Vietnamese poem of NHIEN NGUYEN MD:

BƠI VỚI TRĂNG

Vầng trăng lơ lửng lưng trời
Trăng in đáy nước, mặt hồ sóng trôi
Hồ này là để nhà bơi
Nhưng mà khách tới chúng tôi bơi cùng.
Tối nay bơi chỉ một mình
Nhưng mà may quá trăng nhìn tôi bơi.
Vợ tôi bận quá đi thôi
Tường trình phải viết xong rồi mới chơi.
Hoàng hôn đã tắt lâu rồi
Bao nhiêu đom đóm rủ tôi rước đèn
Bên hồ ngồi một mèo đen
Mơ màng đôi mắt nhìn tôi, sóng hồ.
Tôi thì bơi lội ngược xuôi
Nửa vòng bơi ngửa nhìn trời trăng soi
Nhìn mèo ngồi đó nhìn tôi
Nhìn đàn đom đóm, nhìn dơi liệng trời
Tôi bơi một tiếng đồng hồ
Thế rồi tôi nghỉ, mai chờ trăng bơi.
