Swimming Lesson - Lincoln Park Zoo Poem by Ima Ryma

Swimming Lesson - Lincoln Park Zoo

Fisher's a month old grey seal who
Is taking swim lessons so that,
Here at home in Lincoln Park Zoo,
He's primed for water habitat.
The keepers keep a watchful eye
On Fisher, who's behind the scenes,
To monitor the little guy,
Learning his water ways and means.
Grey seals, like humans, need to learn
How to swim, and for a grey seal
At a very young age, the yearn
To be in water has appeal.

It won't take long, Fisher will be
In water doing swimmingly.
