Sycophancy Poem by Kingsley Egbukole

Sycophancy

Rating: 5.0

Telling the powers what they want to hear
Rather than what they should hear
To bloat their ego with false sense of accomplishment
When there is nothing on ground to show

It is nothing but sheer sycophancy
Motivated by selfishness and greed
For a morsel from the master's table
The reason we are where we are
And never get to where we ought to be.

That perfectly describes the politics of my country too. People in position of authority want only praise, not truth. Bravo! Sycophancy can ruin nations.
