Tagore In Polyglot (9) : Chariot Festival Poem by Rajat S Bhattacharya

Tagore In Polyglot (9) : Chariot Festival

Today the Chariot Festival of Lord Jagannath is on,
The route is teeming with crowd, celebrating it with gusto,
Devotees are paying obeisance by bowing down to the road soaking in reverence.
The road thinks that he's God so devotees are paying obeisance to him,
Chariot thinks it's he, the idol things he is God nodoubt,
The omnipresent God simply smiles in amusement, unnoticed!

Translation: RSBhattacharya
