In Lebanon
the poets live
with Fairuz on
their evening lips
but at their
fingertips
a stinger
stengun
or a stone
Oh Lebanon
I hear your cries
each time again
when someone dies
children of Lebanon
the cabdrivers
all are a Brahma
they could even
compete with Swami
but in turmoil
lies their Dharma
without redemption
for their Karma
Oh Lebanon
I understand
that Hizbullah
and Allah
they go hand in hand
Oh Lebanon
your Drama
your mourning suns
are crying
for the ones
still dying
a sunrise in denying
Oh Lebanon
there is no hide
and there's no seek
not even peace
were it a week
Oh Lebanon
let the Cypress
speak
while willows
wheep
