Take Me; Leave Me Poem by arboreslorien sapientia

Take Me; Leave Me

Rating: 5.0

Take me away from here.
Away from this Earth of false perfection.
Away from pain,
Away from suffering,
To the cold darkness of the void.
Neither thinking,
Nor feeling,
Forever.

Leave me.
Take me another day.
Do not think of my vain hopes and aspirations,
But of others sadness at my passing.
I am not scared,
I am ready, and willing to accept your decision,
But please,
Think of them,
Not me.

I really like this poem - you're not afraid to die, are you? I feel much the same way, in the sense that I don't want people to mourn for me when I am gone. Your poem floats so well, and the couple word lines make you think, and focus on those exact words to understand the full power. It's very simple, but quite complex in nature because of the idea behind it. Wonderful poem, A-B. Love and Sunshine, -L.C.
