Take My Hand Poem by Dustin Smith

Take My Hand

Life left me damaged and broken
You helped me heal even when we have barely spoken
You have that kind of smile, the one that I could just stare at for a while
You're the type I can get lost in your eyes, light up my world as bright as the daylight skies
You may not know it but you make my day, all it takes is a smile or a "hey"
You have a heart so pure and to a damaged heart like mine, you are the cure
Even if you don't know, you are so perfect it's like God gave you to the world as a present wrapped with a bow
For you there is nothing that I wouldn't do, I'd trade the world just to be with you
Nobody else will treat you like I can, girl look no further you don't need another man
You may not be black and blue but you have been emotionally bruised
If given the chance, I promise I would take care of you
What would it take to help you understand, I'd give you the world if you just take my hand
