Racism Poem by Dustin Smith

Racism

People are judged by the color of their skin,
What should matter is what lies within.
Black is not much different than white,
The two kinds would always fight.
Discrimination everywhere, all day and night;
Why couldn't they have been polite?

The way whites treated blacks was a disgrace;
It shouldn't be about your race.
No one should be effaced,
For everyone deserves to be embraced.
In the old times, they don't know what they missed,
Back when blacks and whites were on a different list.

Now in the modern days,
Both colors are accepted and okay.
People deserve to have their own say,
And everyone should be treated the same way.
I thank God segregation has been fixed,
Because it shouldn't matter if you're black, white, or mixed.
