Taken For Granted Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Taken For Granted

Rating: 5.0

Everything is taken for granted
Mistakes are not rectified or regretted
This is new trend today and acknowledged
The old tradition is off and slightly edged

People may promise only to break it next moment
They will watch injustice but no confrontment
They have lost resistance power
Only old stalwarts memorize and remember

It is easy to become egoist
Frown upon and wrongly insist
This is tendency and very clearly seen
Anarchy and mob violence with ugly scenes

Who wants to obey good instructions?
They only create hurdles and obstructions
Acts clearly seen as inhuman and cruel
Actions depended upon with wordy duals

I consider myself as coward master
Still I will run with speed as faster
I will present as if it is for noble cause
In reality it is retaliatory action after pause

I easily escape without being noticed
My loyalty is appreciated without being priced
It has hidden charges and I recover it
I gather it when situation is ripe and fit

Who is not selfish in this world?
Who runs away from scene after developing cold?
Only brave come forward and hold it together
Rests all witness it from distanced and not bother

It should not be considered s individuals concern
Whole society or country suffers in turn
One should try to restrict selfishness to bare minimum
If not then restrain self and keep at least mum

You can’t live with untrustworthy
You will loose all the sympathy
The doubts may be caste on you
You won’t be able to go ahead or sail through

One should avoid pursuing in wrong direction?
But what happens if it is proved no good action?
What can be remedial action and follow up?
Everything should not be lost in smoke or puff

No one would like to share the blame
Everybody will want the credit and claim
All appreciations for glorious events
Only hard looks awaits for failed attempts

No one can save us from the clutches from the fate
Timely help may not reach or arrive very late
The morale will be sunk to low level
Leaving behind no chance to excel

We are expert in giving lips services
We may offer even sue of good offices
We will render it not fully but partially
But certainly present it as if rendered really

We all suffer from same weaknesses
Though we have no means to assess
One can’t decide about one’s own fault
That will prove in wound as somersault
