Taking More And More Poem by Ima Ryma

Taking More And More

I am a coconut tree who
Is surrounded by humankind,
Always concerned what they might do
When there is taking on their mind.
Okay, when they use me for shade.
Okay, when my fruit they do take.
Even okay, when my sap's made
Into wine for their drinking sake.
But humankind has gained renown
For making us trees disappear.
They want the wood, so cut us down.
For trees this is a daily fear.

Seeing a human with an ax
Is gonna stress me to the max.
