Talk To Me - Poem by Joe Holley
Tonight I died, tonight I cried. I walked my path and there insight, like a mirage so far it shook my guard… too late did I think, too late that I blinked, my words trapped, trapped still.
I took to my phone, its silent still. I take to my iPod, the music I sing. With lyrics not present, thus dreams make lyrics, the images that I invasion, your face you keep hidden…
So why do I dream, so why do these eyes cry. So why do you feel that my words are all but a lie.
Why do you hide, why do you fear. We were side by side, our hearts so near.
Was that even you, yet your presence still I felt.
These words I feel, they are not a game.
I’ll try, I’ll try forever more.
You must think I’m joking, I have no punch line.
Believe that the chance I have, when words can be exchanged.
My lines that I will talk will all be true…..
